What’s New:

The ARPC
13th annual Single Stack match is in two weeks on May 9th. There are a
few slots left.

Apparently
there is some question about match start times. Unless otherwise
noted, the walk thru starts at 9AM for all section matches.

The slots for
Nationals Have been distributed.

The points standings as of
April 11th are on the website. There is a link on the home page.
-
Bend will have an IDPA
classifier matches at 6 PM on Tuesday June 9th and Tuesday June 23rd.
Bend has IDPA matches on the 2nd
Sunday and the 3rd Saturday of the summer months.

The next points match of the 2009
points year will be May 17th at Tri-County.
-
The Area 1 match for 2009
will be in Idaho at Parma. It is scheduled for June 18-21. There a host of
other special events in 2009 check the
CCS website and click on Special Events, the
Area
1 website and the
USPSA website for more info. Each website is updated
regularly as information becomes available. The 2009 Columbia-Cascade
Section match is scheduled for July 18 & 19 at ARPC.

Mike McCarter is cooking up some special
matches for the coming year. Mike’s special matches are always fun.
The Plastic Gun Championships is August 22nd.

Bend
will be holding two courses May 2009, put on by Mr. Larry Vickers. This
class is being arranged by Scot Hill, one of the COSSA Practical Shooters.
The classes will be May 1 and 2 for Pistol Basic and May 3 and 4 for Carbine
Basic. Each class is $375 for the two day course. One or both classes can
be taken. Additional information can be seen at the COSSA website under
COSSA Practical Shooters and then under Training. Go to
www.oregonshooting.com. For people interested, Scot can
be reached at
scothill@msn.com . The subject of the email should be
Larry Vickers Training. Larry Vickers is recognized as a top notch
instructor, one of the best pistol smiths in the country, and is a 22 year
veteran of US Army Special Forces which includes 9 years in Delta Force.
The guy is the real deal.

Mark Kruger has taken over
the USPSA discipline in Eugene. They shoot on the 1st Sunday of each month
and would really like to see more people down in there area if possible for
matches.

Roseburg
is up and going again with matches on the 2nd Sunday of each month.

It is not too late to
compete for a slot at Nationals for next year or to just register as member of the
Columbia-Cascade Section. The form is on the website.

Regarding the points
standings for 2009 points year, if you don’t see your name on the points
standings, it's because you put “NO” on the Section Affidavit to be in the
points series. If this is not what you intended send Chuck Anderson an
email so he can make the change.

ARPC (Albany Rifle and
Pistol Club) now does I.C.O.R.E. (USPSA type stages with a revolver) every
3rd Saturday at 9am.

The first Saturday of each
month at Albany is a new USPSA shooters training. You must call ahead
(541-619-0038). Next class is
May 2nd.

The first Saturday of each
month at Douglas Ridge there is a USPSA style training match. The match
includes a safety session before the match and coaching during the match.
Next match is May 2nd.

The first Saturday of each
month at TCGC is the certification course which meets the CCS requirement
for training as well as the TCGC requirement for members to shoot
unaccompanied in the pistol pits. The next class will be
May 2nd.
There are no classes in Dec, Jan or Feb. Registration for the class is
handled by Mary Renfrow tricountygun@qwest.net
