What’s New: 

• The 2009 Crazy Croc is cancelled!  Contact Paul or Bill for info, refunds, etc.
• August is a busy month, even though the Croc is cancelled there are plenty of local matches see the upcoming events section below or look at the CURRENT EVENTS page on the website.
• The 2009 final point standings are on the website.
• The 2010 Points affidavit is on the website.  Please print one off and send it in  even if you don't want a slot at nationals.  We can only send ballots for the section elections to people who have affiliated  with the section.  The affidavit is the way to affiliate.
• Points dates for the upcoming year will be in the September newsletter.
• The USPSA Area 1 election is upcoming, ballots are in the mail.  The two declared candidates are Chuck Anderson and Kevin Imel.
• For ALL CCS section matches, unless otherwise noted, the walk thru starts at 9AM. 
• There a host of other special events in 2009 check the CCS website and click on Special Events, the Area 1 website and the USPSA website for more info.   Each website is updated regularly as information becomes available.

• GSSF match Aug 1-2 at ARPC (Albany).
• The Plastic Gun Championships at ARPC (Albany) is August 22nd.
• Northwest Revolver Championships Aug 30 at ARPC (Albany).  Get that old wheel gun out and go shoot!
• Tri-County Gun Club will also be hosting our first NRA LE 3-Gun Competition on August 29, 2009.  This competition is only open to Law Enforcement officers (NRA’s choice not ours).  However we do still need RO’s to work the match.  This is a great opportunity to come out and see the direction NRA is taking with 3-Gun.  This type of competition is new to the NRA and hopefully they will expand and open it up to non LEO type folks in the next year or two.  In the meantime, let’s use this match as a way to hook some new shooters and get them coming to USPSA as well.  If you’re interested in being an RO for this match please send Chuck an email at chuck@andersontactical.com .  The details are yet to be worked out, but likely there will be some benefits for being an RO. 
• The recent US steel match at Tri-County results are on the Steel Challenge website.   www.steelchallenge.com  Under the results section. 

 Other News: 

• Eugene has matches on the 1st Sunday of each month and Roseburg on the 2nd Sunday of each month. 
• The new club rep for COSSA at Bend is Bill Garland Sr.  billgarland@msn.com
• Steve Shippey is the new club rep for ARPC steve@nomikes.com.
• The section by-laws have been revised.  There is a link on the home page.  
• Regarding the points standings for 2010 points year, if you don’t see your name on the points standings, it's because you put “NO” on the Section Affidavit to be in the points series.  If this is not what you intended send Chuck Anderson an email so he can make the change. 
• ARPC (Albany Rifle and Pistol Club) now does I.C.O.R.E. (USPSA type stages with a revolver) every 2nd Sunday at 9AM.
• Bend has IDPA matches on the 2nd Sunday and the 3rd Saturday of the summer months.
• The CCS 2008 Safety / Training manual is on the website under CCS Business.
• The USPSA Classifier Calculator is at http://www.classifiercalc.com/  now.

Training:

 Note any of the classes below may be cancelled if a conflict with a major event occurs.  

• The Safety Manual is posted on the website.  Look under CCS Business.
• The first Saturday of each month at Albany is a new USPSA shooters training. You must call ahead (541-619-0038). Next class is Aug 1st.
• The first Saturday of each month at Douglas Ridge there is a USPSA style training match.  The match includes a safety session before the match and coaching during the match.  Next match is Aug 1st.
• The first Saturday of each month at TCGC is the certification course which meets the CCS requirement for training as well as the TCGC requirement for members to shoot unaccompanied in the pistol pits.  Due to the July 4th holiday the next class will be Aug 1st.   Registration for the class is handled by email only at the following address: trico.ipsc@gmail.com
